Certain majors are impacted. In particular the CS major. Same goes for the Pyschology, supposedly. Bad reputation when compared to the other UCs. UCSC is considered low tier while the other six (UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCD, UCI and UCSB) are considered "public ivies".
