There's a currently known bug with the Enigmatic Fortress event chain where it doesn't properly progress to the next stage of the event, the special projects to enter the fortress never show up on the situation log, and instead restarts within a few seconds of having its defenses broken and re-engages whatever ships are in system.I attacked the enigmatic fortress with my fleet and started the questline but the fortress keeps re-engaging its defenses, making it impossible to actually do the quests.
